Head of WISH Preclinical Research

Marie Anne Makoudjou is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Padua, specializing in the biological and neuropsychological impacts of intimate partner violence (IPV). Her current research integrates biomolecular analysis, animal models, and clinical data to investigate the pathophysiological consequences of IPV beyond epidemiology. She obtained her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where her research focused on peptides derived from the processing of NGF precursors. During her doctoral studies, she collaborated with CNR-Confindustria, contributing to inter-institutional projects, laboratory activities, and scientific outreach. Marie Anne holds a master's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Camerino and a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Dschang, Cameroon. She is proficient in a wide range of advanced laboratory techniques, including molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, and confocal microscopy. She has authored scientific publications and presented her work at national and international conferences, demonstrating her strong commitment to research, communication, and collaboration.
