UNCOVER - Training and information
RESEARCH CHANGES THE WORLD
This project, funded by the Intesa Sanpaolo Charity Fund, aims to make the data and evidence from WISH research immediately accessible and useful.
In particular, the UNCOVER project aims to raise awareness among staff and operators of anti-violence centers about the cardiovascular and neuropsychological impact of IPV, promoting preventive screenings and healthcare interventions.
Another key aspect is the public and educational dissemination of the research results: IPV is a public health issue, and the public needs tools and knowledge—especially students in schools and universities.
Institutions and gender medicine
Continuous and fruitful contact with gender medicine committees and institutions for gender equality brings research results and new study perspectives into close contact with the political and administrative decisions that affect the lives of all women.
Anti-violence centers
Researchers and collaborators of the WISH group organize training sessions for staff and operators of anti-violence centers and listening desks on the scientific evidence of the long-term effects of IPV.
Schools
Opening channels of information and listening within schools is essential to eradicate the phenomenon of gender-based violence. Educating young women and men to mutual respect and care is the goal of UNCOVER, which brings researchers and anti-violence center operators into upper secondary schools to talk with students — and, above all, to listen to them.
Universities
Starting from university education to raise awareness among medical and hospital staff to recognize the signs of violence and know how to deal with them, learning how to support victims and help them break free from violence.
Training meetings for schools
We offer awareness and information sessions in schools in collaboration with local anti-violence centers and provincial gender equality committees.
